British Insurers` Financial Media Awards Triumph

- 18 Oct 2007

Post’s senior reporter Ed Vinales beat off competition from journalists from The Times and The Scotsman to be crowned the up and coming financial journalist of the year, while Post editor Jonathan Swift was crowned general insurance trade journalist of the year in a category in which Post’s deputy editor Lynn Rouse was also nominated.

Incisive Media’s group editorial services director David Worsfold capped a great night for Incisive Media’s Insurance Division by being presented with his achievement award from BBC presenter Dermot Murnaghan.

Post was also the only general insurance trade magazine to be nominated in the financial trade publication of the year category, which was one by Financial Adviser.

Group editor in chief, Incisive Media’s Insurance Division, Ant Gould said: "This represents another fine haul for Post and again underlines the editorial excellence which is the bedrock of the titles success. Jonathan and Ed’s professionalism and talent epitomize everything that good journalism is all about.

"David's award is also long overdue and a testament to his fine service to Insurance Age and Post Magazine – which he was editor of for different periods in the 1980s – and his contribution to the success of the insurance division’s brand extensions, including the British Insurance Awards.  The award is also recognition of his work in setting up the All Party Parliamentary Group on Insurance and Financial Services some 15 years ago – a group which is still going strong. David has been a great servant of both Incisive Media and the insurance industry – and continues to be - and his award is well deserved."

Elsewhere, regular Post contributor Sam Barrett won freelancer financial journalist of the year.
