New York—ALM, a media company that targets legal and business professionals, Thursday announced it has acquired Altman Weil Publications. Altman Weil publishes surveys on the legal profession, focusing primarily on the economics and management of law firms.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Altman Weil currently produces 10 major surveys annually, including the "Survey of Law Firm Economics," which provides economic performance data on private law firms in the U.S. It also produces the "Small Law Firm Economic Survey," "Senior Leadership Survey for Law Firms" and the "Compensation Systems in Private Law Firms Survey."

Altman Weil will become part of ALM Research, which produces ALM Research Online, a subscription database of legal market intelligence
