Legaltech New York Keynote Panel to Analyze Impact of E-Discovery on Client Relationaships
- 8 Dec 2008NEW YORK (December 8, 2008) – A blue-ribbon panel representing law firms, their corporate clients and technology experts will explore "How E-Discovery is Changing the Relationship Between Law Firms and Their clients" at Incisive Media's upcoming LegalTech New York conference. The panel will be led by John Woods, partner at Hunton & Williams LLP, and will include Tim Crouthamel, head of the litigation support section at State Farm and Tom Thimot, president and CEO of CaseCentral. LegalTech New York 2009, the world’s largest and most prestigious legal technology conference and trade show, will take place February 2-4 at the Hilton Hotel in New York City. Complete conference information is available at www.legaltechshow.com.
The increasing scope and cost of electronic discovery programs, coupled with FRCP changes and corporate risk concerns, have created new issues and tensions for law firms and their clients, at a time when both face rising cost pressures.
Woods’ practice focuses on advising corporations on internal investigations, business crimes and complex civil litigation, with special expertise in cyber-extortion, theft of trade secrets and data breaches. Woods also regularly counsels clients on e-discovery, electronic surveillance and data security and he serves as national e-discovery counsel to four Fortune 500 companies in the financial services, defense and telecommunications industries.
Crouthamel is section head of litigation support for State Farm’s corporate law department. A State Farm employee for more than 20 years, he has been a manager in the litigation support section since 1999. Crouthamel received his law degree from the University of Memphis and is a member of the Corporate Electronic Discovery Forum.
Thimot was named president and CEO of CaseCentral, a leading developer of e-discovery systems, earlier this year. His background includes senior management positions at numerous software and technology companies including Kazeon Systems, GoRemote, Netegrity and Oracle. Earlier in his career, Thimot held management and consulting positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Accenture.
The panel will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3rd. This session is open to all attendees and has been approved for one CLE/CPD credit.
