Incisive Media sells British Journal of Photography to Apptitude Media

Incisive Media has announced that along with the sale of Computeractive magazine to Dennis Publishing, it has sold the UK’s leading professional photography magazine, British Journal of Photography to Apptitude Media

Apptitude Media is a new company formed by Marc Hartog, the former publishing director of the title. Incisive Media is retaining a minority stake in the new company.

British Journal of Photography, an award winning title launched in 1854, is a long established niche consumer magazine focused on the high end photographic market. The brand was acquired by Incisive Media as part of the Timothy Benn acquisition in 2000 and since Incisive Media acquired VNU in 2007 it has formed part of the non-core personal technology division alongside Computeractive.

While this deal sees Apptitude Media acquire the brand, there will be no interruption to the publishing schedule of the title. The editorial and advertising teams will transfer to Apptitude Media and the staff will be located initially in Incisive Media's office but will move to another location in the next six months.
