Tine is Special Projects Editor for Waters Technology
Please sum up your role in a few sentences
As special projects editor for WatersTechnology, my job is to work closely with our commercial team and our clients on sponsored content, such as whitepapers, webcasts, video interviews and events. My job is very varied, and one day I might host a webcast and the next day I might work on a marketing video. In addition to managing these customer-driven projects, I oversee one of the publications in the WatersTechnology portfolio, Inside Reference Data, which I previously edited for more than four years.
What has been the professional highlight for you since working at Incisive Media?
When I worked as editor of Inside Reference Data, I had a chance to interview some truly inspiring industry leaders, and these events have counted for some of my professional highlights. I particularly remember being introduced to Tom Secunda, a co-founder of Bloomberg, and sitting down with him for an informal chat about the market. I was equally excited when I secured the first press interview with Lou Eccleston, CEO of McGraw-Hill Financial, after he took the reins at the then newly created billion-dollar data and analytics company, which was previously part of Standard & Poor’s.
What element of your job do you enjoy the most?
I really enjoy the networking aspect of the job, and meeting new people from different cultures and backgrounds. I’ve had a chance to travel extensively with work, which has made the job extremely interesting, varied and fun.
What has been your favourite moment at Incisive Media so far?
My favourite moment was when I won the company’s business innovation competition, and the prize was a holiday to the Caribbean — which turned out to offer my boyfriend (now husband) a perfect opportunity to propose.
What word would you use to describe working at Incisive Media?
