Tim Weller, Incisive Media’s Chairman and Chief Executive, gave a keynote speech at this year’s International Confex at London’s Olympia.
The speech described how Tim started the company 20 years ago with one magazine, Investment Week, and how it has now grown into a major B2B and events business serving customers with trusted content and insight, engaging events and effective digital delivery.
The company’s mission is to inform our customers with business-critical content at the right time when, where and how they want it; to bring professional communities together with experts to engage them and exchange ideas and knowledge; and to create marketing solutions to enable their business to perform.
After the speech, Tim was asked about the company’s future. He said: “My vision is to ensure that we have a very focused business operating in the financial and professional markets that we serve, delivering content across these platforms and being utterly customer-facing.”
He continued: “Incisive is now a real-time information business that knows exactly who its customer base is and should deliver relevant content on that basis.”
He also talked about his team and explained that what he looks for in new talent is “passion, commitment, courage and people who have energy”.
He continued: “There’s no better business to work in if you are a recent graduate because you’re bringing all the learnings that you have with your own social media to a business environment.”
