James Hanbury is co founder and group managing director of Incisive Media. He sits on the main board of the business and has responsibility for the group’s operations in Europe, North America and Asia.
James began his career as an officer in the British Army, before moving into Publishing in 1985 with Centaur Communications. He then spent 5 years as the sales director of a leading Corporate Design agency before a move back into Publishing as a founding director of Incisive Media.
James has worked across all divisions of the business in a variety of roles, as Chief Operating Officer while a public company, Chief Executive UK and Asia and now as Group MD. He has been responsible for the integration of newly acquired businesses, being closely involved with the 2000 stock market flotation and the subsequent management buyout of the business in 2006.
In 2010, James was appointed Chair of the PPA Business Media Council, the organisation representing professional and business media in the UK and also sits on the Executive Board of the Professional Publishers Association.
James is a keen investor, involved in an advisory capacity with many start up businesses.
