Careers with Incisive
Incisive Media offers the world's most exciting range of media jobs. Growing daily, Incisive has expanded from 13 employees to more than 750 award-winning, enthusiastic, dedicated and passionate people since 1994.
In 2011, The Incisive Media Foundation began two new long term charitable partnerships with Kids Company and EdUKaid, focused on our work to support education and literacy charities in the UK and overseas.
Eduacation and literacy are vital, no matter where you are in the world. These two great charities work to improve education and literacy opportunities for disadvantaged young people in the UK and Tanzania.
In post-recession Britain where jobs are scarce and getting even scarcer, and in an emerging economy like Tanzania that suffers from a lack of infrastructure and investment, those without access to education face almost insurmountable obstacles in supporting themselves and building a life of dignity and self-sufficiency.
The Incisive Media Foundation works to support these charities in the following ways:
The Incisive Media Foundation has committed to support Kids Company through both financial and practical support, which includes volunteering directly with some of the 14,000 children the charity helps annually.
Through their work in 40 schools across London, Kids Company is dedicated to changing the lives of some of the UK's most vulnerable young people. They focus on practical, emotional and educational support for inner-City children as young as 9.
The great thing is, the work The Incisive Media Foundation and its many supporters is funding, works. A staggering 91% of children Kids Company help are reintergrated into mainstrream education and 83% of children see an educational improvement.
Going forward, The Foundation is working to further support the charity and find new and exciting ways of using our staff to support young people directly through more regular volunteering days, work placements and skills development workshops for young people progressing through the charity.
"We are so excited about partnering with Incisive Media! From our meetings with your team we already know that this relationship really matters to you - you are dynamic and passionate about getting involved in all areas of our work. Through a host of volunteering opportunties for your staff as well as exciting events and projects, this partnership will get to the heart of the work that Kids Company does". Kids Company
The Incisive Media Foundation has both a local and international focus and so in 2010 we made a long term commitment to work in partnership with EdUKaid, an international education charity predominantly focussed in rural Tanzania.
EdUKaid is dedicated to changing the lives of some of the most deprived children living in the remote Mtwara region of southern Tanzania. Founded in 2003, EdUKaid supports 14 schools in one of the poorest regiosn inthe country.
Projects funded by The Incisive Media Foundation have so far improved the education and lives of nearly 2000 children living in poverty.
The contrast to UK primary schools education could not be more stark; few schools have electricity, a water supply or adequate sanitary facilities. Classrooms are overcrowded, materials scarce and morale amongst teachers poor.
The Foundation is able to help EdUKaid provide desperately needed support; building classrooms, improving basic facilities and providing much needed materials including simple things like desks and blackboards.
Going forward, The Foundation will continue to work closely with the founders and UK team and find new, innovative and exciting ways of employing the skills, talent and energy of our staff to help continue to make a massive difference.
"We're really excited about the opportunity that partnering with Incisive Mediahas opened up. Plans for the first Incisive media funded pre-primary class have already begun and we look forward to working with The Foundation over the next three years to help secure a better future for children in Tanzania".
