Careers with Incisive
Incisive Media offers the world's most exciting range of media jobs. Growing daily, Incisive has expanded from 13 employees to more than 750 award-winning, enthusiastic, dedicated and passionate people since 1994.
Supporting the local community and developing the skills and expertise of our staff are central to what helps define Incisive Media. Our work to engage staff is focused in two key areas:
Fundraising
Working as a team and taking part in events and activities to support the vision and purpose of The Foundation is central to the overall business and starts at the induction for new joiners.
Throughout the year, The Foundation Committee and individuals and teams from across the business organise team building events and wider fundraising activities.
The calendar of events stretches from fun runs, quizzes, marathons and more, all of which raise much needed support for the local and international charitable partners we focus on - enabling disadvantaged people in the UK and Tanzania to develop their education and gain literacy and numeracy skills.
EdUKaid 10K Dash for Desks – Alex Harrington, Andrew Tjaardstra and David Worsfold raised over £750 for equipment for schools in Tanzania when they took part in the charity's annual 10k run through the hills and valleys of the New Forest on Sunday 9 October 2011. Alex threw himself into the spirit of the occasion running the race in a very fetching short dress as well as leading the the Incisive team in in 53m 38s, with David and Andrew not far behind.

Volunteering & helping others
The Incisive Media Foundation helps find new and engaging ways to develop the skills of our greatest asset, our people, and inspire them to challenge themselves to give their time and expertise to support others.
Volunteering, especially focused on sharing professional skills with the young people from our local partner charity Kids Company is currently our key focus. This is directed in three core areas:
Staff Volunteering Days - Joining a team of colleagues from across the business and supporting a group of inner-city children on a school trip. For many of these young people, it can be the first time they have experienced Central London, visited a museum or passed through the gates of London Zoo. For our staff, it is a great way to learn new skills and to give back to their local community. One group of staff (pictured right) recently took a Year 6 class of children from Morningside Primary School in Hackney to the Natural History Museum.
Work Placements - The Foundation is working to develop a rolling programme of work placements to build on our successful pilot in 2011. Young people with a passion to work and develop their skills in media and publishing, are given the opportunity to work with our team on a long term work placement at one of our central London locations.
Specialist Skills Workshops - In 2012, The Foundation will be working to develop a new series of specialist skils workshops to support young people working with The Foundation partner Kids Company and others. Incisive Media's state of the art in-house studio and recording complex will be the focus, as we aim to give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds their first experience of filming, editing and recording their own short film. The first of these took place in May and was a huge success
Visiting schools in Tanzania - The Foundation chair, David Worsfold, visited the schools we have been helping in conjunction with EdUKaid in Tanzania in May 2012. The work that has been done with the money the Foundation has raised has transformed the schools. David wrote a fascinating and insightful blog while he was in Tanzania which you can read here
