This is a great opportunity for a journalist to join our award-winning Editorial team within BusinessGreen. BusinessGreen, an Incisive’s Media publication, provides the latest news, analysis and expert opinion for its subscribers. These are mainly senior executives and their teams in UK corporates who are responsible for sustainability. The core audience also includes public sector policy leaders and other key stakeholders in the green economy.

Apart from our live coverage online and on social media, BusinessGreen produces daily newsletters, including an in-depth Overnight Briefing with expert analysis of the day’s events. The title also has a rich programme of events, including conferences, summits and awards.  Now in its 12th year, BusinessGreen is the UK’s leading title serving the UK business sustainability community.

What you will be doing:

We are looking for a journalist with more than two years’ experience who is passionate about the green economy and is keen to develop their career by covering sustainability from a business perspective.

As senior reporter, you will be responsible for:

  • Learn about BusinessGreen’s audience and the issues facing them
  • Build a network of valuable contacts in your area of responsibility
  • Devise a constant stream of story ideas that are valuable to sustainability executives and other members of the title’s core audience
  • Deliver regular exclusive stories to help distinguish BusinessGreen from its competitors
  • Producing daily news to tight deadlines
  • Assemble and distribute newsletters
  • Provide commentary for the Overnight Briefing
  • Producing short and long-form analysis of key trends and market shifts in your area of responsibility
  • Present and/or provide a V/O for video
  • Participate in podcasts
  • Distribute stories on social media – including your own account
  • Monitor the competition to ensure BusinessGreen stays ahead in your area of responsibility
  • Represent BusinessGreen in the market and attend key events, both within and outside normal office hours
  • Use your best efforts to meet agreed deadlines, which may occasionally require working outside of normal office hours
  • Written work should be accurate and well-structured
