Incisive Media has done the double at the Investment Association Media Awards, scooping both the pensions journalist and excellence in investment writing silverware.
The awards took place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on 2 November, and are one of the most important accolades in the world of financial media. Even to make the shortlist is a significant honour.
Professional Pensions editor Helen Morrissey opened our account with the Pensions Journalist of the Year award, testament to her high standing in the institutional investment sector.
Pensions are coming under increasing scrutiny from Westminster, and Helen has become one of the UK’s most-respected pensions commentators, delivering accurate and relevant analysis as providers navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.
“I owe this award to all of my colleagues on the Professional Pensions team,” said Morrissey. “I’m fortunate to work with some excellent journalists who are dedicated to delivering the highest quality information on the pensions sector, and they deserve this recognition as much as me.”
This is the second year in a row that the brand has won a major award at this event. Last year, its editor-in-chief Jonathan Stapleton was crowned Pensions Journalist of the Year.
Next up was the Investment Week news team (pictured), which picked up the Team Award for Excellence in Investment Writing – another glowing accolade in a fiercely contested category. The award further recognises Investment Week’s position as the premier source of business information for asset and wealth management professionals.
This sector faces significant uncertainty from both Brexit and the election of Donald Trump as US president, and Investment Week has ensured it is a respected opinion former as it cuts through the noise to get to the facts.
“Congratulations to Investment Week for picking up this year’s Team Award for Excellence in Investment Writing,” said Chris Cummings, chief executive of the Investment Association. “The brand has been commended for its truly outstanding coverage of our industry and for having a team with a real eye for breaking news.”
Investment Week’s news editor Anna Fedorova was also shortlisted for Trade Journalist of the Year at the event.
