Incisive Media achieves Living Wage Employer accreditation

Incisive Media has achieved Living Wage Employer accreditation, following a comprehensive review of its employee, contractor and supplier salaries.

The living wage is voluntarily paid by more than 7000 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage that meets their everyday needs, under the auspices of the Living Wage Foundation.

Incisive Media joins the likes of ITV, Google, and Chelsea FC, who comply with the foundation’s conditions to meet the living wage. This equates to hourly pay of £10.85 in London, versus the UK’s national hourly minimum wage of £8.36 for employees more than 21 years old.

The Living Wage Foundation campaigns for the idea that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. The foundation celebrates and recognises the leadership of responsible employers who choose to pay a living wage based on the cost of living, not just the government minimum.

The living wage is calculated using a basket of household goods and services and according to the regional cost of living, hence the higher rate for employees in London.

“This is an important achievement for Incisive Media,” said head of HR Emma Cutbill. “achieving Living Wage Employer accreditation demonstrates that we take the welfare of our people and those of our contractors and suppliers seriously, and that we are a responsible employer.”

Incisive Media is the current holder of the Association of Online Publishers (AOP) employer of the year award, reflecting the business’s focus on staff welfare. All staff are enrolled in a healthcare plan, life assurance cover and above industry average pensions.

The business provides an employee-assistance programme which offers support and guidance 24/7/365, including face-to-face counselling.

“At Incisive Media we focus on making sure we create an environment that fosters a supportive, inclusive and challenging culture with a deep sense of integrity,” said CEO Jonathon Whiteley. “We hire smart, motivated people. We pay them well, develop and support them, invest in the best in class tech to allow them to do their jobs and treat them with respect, care and integrity.”
