Professional Pensions Live 2021: staged in London, accessible anywhere

Incisive Media is signalling its return to live events with the launch of Professional Pensions live on September 14, 2021. PP Live will simultaneously take place at the Brewery in London and broadcast live digitally, using the digital event expertise Incisive has finessed over the past 18 months.

The event will re-connect pensions professionals from across the UK and Incisive has confirmed sponsorship from BlackRock, Equiniti, Natixis, SEI and Schroders, with support from industry partners including the Pensions Management Institute, The Pensions Administration Standards Association and The Association of Member Nominated Trustees.

“After a year of meeting almost exclusively in a virtual way, we are really excited to be able to launch PP Live as a hybrid event – providing a face-to-face experience for those able to attend in person, while at the same time providing a digital experience for a broader virtual audience,” said Professional Pensions editor-in-chief Jonathan Stapleton.

“The past 18 months have been a time of huge change for the pensions industry – schemes and trustees have had to deal with the impact of Covid-19 and a significant amount of new legislation and regulatory requirements, including the Pension Schemes Act 2021 and new ESG requirements for SIPPs to name a few. The pace of change shows no sign of slowing down – with a new funding code and TCFD disclosure requirements in the pipeline.”

To take on the challenge of making the event a success both in person and digitally, Professional Pensions has unveiled an advisory board, featuring leading professional and member-nominated trustees such as 20-20 Trustees managing director Naomi L’Estrange, Association of Member-Nominated Trustees co-chair David Weeks, Church of England Pensions Board member-nominated trustee Maggie Rodger, Dalriada Trustees director Vassos Vassou, BESTrustees CEO Julie Stothard and member-nominated trustee and chair of Samsung Pensions Scheme (DB) Kevin McGonnigle.

Professional Pensions conference manager Paige Reeves said: “The last 18 months have been a very steep learning curve, and we’re still adapting to make our events better than before. With the prospect of live events a very real possibility I’m excited we’re able to launch Professional Pensions Live as a hybrid event.

“Safety is our number one priority and we’ll be asking our audience every step of the way the type of event they’d like to see, which was why an advisory board is so important for the development of PP Live this year.

“The Professional Pensions audience has been amazing at adapting to our virtual events and I hope the future hybrid event format allows everyone’s participation. I am looking forward to stepping back into The Brewery this year and what better way to kick off than with our flagship pensions event.”

Further partners and sponsors will be announced in the coming weeks, alongside the full agenda, first tranche of A-list speakers, and ticket details.
