Cover editor Saville scores second consecutive journalist gong at Protection Review Awards

Cover editor Adam Saville has won the Protection Journalist of the Year Award for the second year in a row.

The award was announced at the Protection Review Awards 2020 in an online ceremony on December 9. Saville was also shortlisted for personality of the year and Cover for organisation of the year.

Protection Review is an independent platform for the life-assurance sector. Its awards are hotly contested, and Saville triumphed over entries from The FT, Sunday Times, Daily Express and The Daily Telegraph.

Saville received the following citation from Sue Helmont, marketing director of AIG Life: “The winner is more than just a journalist reporting the news. They have played an active role in driving industry initiatives such as mental health, signposting and workplace initiatives. It’s little wonder then that they picked up the majority of the vote for this award.”

“I am absolutely thrilled to win Protection Journalist of the Year for the second year in a row at an industry awards that’s as respected as Protection Review,” said Saville. “It’s been a tough year for all of us, so it is fantastic to see our work, following all the chaotic movements of the past nine months in particular, recognised by our readers and the Protection Review judges. Thanks to all who voted and hopefully next year we can celebrate in person.”
